Jadu Ka Brush

Magical Paintbrush
Born and brought up in the ancient city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, just a stroll away from the lilting Ganges that cuts her way through the plains towards Kolkata, Sunil was enamored by the artwork of comic books that boasted protagonists such as Doga and Nagraj. This childlike fascination drove him to scribble on the walls/floors around him.
“In addition, there was a ‘Jadu ka brush’ (magical paintbrush), which inspired me to explore art,” said Sunil. “It was a story from one of my textbooks in school, in which a boy used the ‘Jaadu ka brush’ to save himself from trouble and help others. Even now, these inspirations are still alive within me.”

Sunil, a professional graphic designer and artist with approximately two decades of experience in print media and currently working at The Times of India, completed his postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Visual Arts, BHU, Varanasi, in 2005. After completing graduation, he moved to Delhi-NCR to begin his professional journey.
Sunil’s paintings capture the vibrant colours and textures of nature and the interesting personalities of her inhabitants, mirroring his admiration and respect for the beauty of the natural world.
Sunil, currently, lives with his wife, Pratima and their two beloved dogs, Mili and Mowgli in Greater Noida
